Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Chapel By The Sea is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Chapel By the Sea members are involved in a variety of ministries from local benevolence to Foreign Missions.  Come find your place for service.

Mission Outreach

Chapel By The Sea is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We support missionaries through our mission organization “World Witness”  as part of our denomination the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.  Our current support is for ten missionaries located in three countries—Turkey, Peru, and Mexico.  We hope to send out small teams from our church each year on short term mission trips to one of these countries to assist our missionaries in practical projects and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country, live and minister in our own community, or go on a short term mission trip.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of the Chapel, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Adult choir practice is from September through May on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm.  Elder Ray Christian and his wife Wendy are our Music/Choir leaders.  They are always eager to have new voices singing praise to the Lord.

The usher team at the Chapel fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are recorded in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook account for additional church communication.  We are always looking for new ways to use media and technology to better communicate God’s Word.  If you have expertise in these areas please let us know how you might help.

Marriage Counseling

Pastor David offers premarital counseling for those who are members of the Chapel.  Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. For those needing more intensive marriage counseling we will be happy to help find the right Christian Counselor to help you.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Chapel By The Sea is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Our Prayer Request list is sent by email to make known the needs of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday there is a Men’s Prayer Breakfast at Long Point Cafe at 7:30am.  We also come together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.  The Elders of our Church also have a special prayer meeting once a month.  If you have any special request or would like the elders to pray with or for you please let us know.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Chapel By The Sea holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
Women’s Ministry
After a few years’ lull, our Women’s Ministry is revving back up and we’d love for YOU to be a part of it! Click here to receive emails and get involved.
